On Friday night I was in Manhattan waiting in line to see the musical Xanadu. Nate walked up and stood in line right behind me! I was incredibly shocked to see him for the first time in almost a year, and of course shocked because what a small freaking world...
Unfortunately, I didn't get up the nerve to say anything to him because he was with his girlfriend (?) and one of the guys from Steel Train, so I didn't want to bother him, plus I get incredibly shy around anyone remotely important or famous. I didn't really know what to say either because I didn't know how to bring up being a huge fan of his former band.
However, I thought you all would appreciate a small encounter with The Format...

My vet office is looking for a vet assistant! It's my new vet who I've been going to for about a year and a half. I trust her completely with my dogs and she's so great with all of my problem foster dogs.
She's the sort of vet you go to and you feel at home with, and you're comfortable, and she takes the time to explain everything in great detail and answer any questions you have in normal people's terms and doesn't make you feel like an idiot for asking or suggesting anything.
I love her two vet techs, friendly as can be and great with my animals...
Anyway, I e-mailed Dr. Warren about the position and she thinks I might be a good fit for their team. She wants me to fill out an application and bring in a resume and talk with her some more. I e-mailed her on Thursday, she got back to me on Saturday, and I've been doing the happy dance non-stop any time I've talked about this since then. I am so excited for this opportunity.
I love this vet office, they work directly with the Tacoma Humane Society and are always doing events to sponsor non-profits, local artists, small local businesses and rescues. In addition to them just being a great business, The compensation:

Health insurance allowance after 6 months

HUGE pay cut, and it's part time, but I just talked to my current boss at the pharmacy and he's all for me checking this out. He tells me not to feel bad and that these are only jobs and he understands. He tells me to find out what kind of schedule they'd want me to work there and he'll work it out for me. I really almost started crying. (although I've been really emotional lately anyway).

sweet stuff ahead.
went to riverside and san diego this weekend with my band japanese monsters. super awesome shows... especially since they were only the 3rd and 4th shows that we've played. more great stuff coming up too, including another trip to southern california in june, and going to new mexico in july. please check us out on myspace and add us as your friend. we've got a few songs off our 9 song cd posted. http://www.myspace.com/mechazilla1

1. I need even numbers in my life. Microwave times, TV/radio volume, how much gas I put in the car, etc. HAS TO BE AN EVEN NUMBER OR I AM NOT COMFORTABLE.
2. Hair that is not attached to a body makes me want to puke. Like stuff in the drain and on the bathroom floor. I get physically ill trying to clean it up. ugh.
3. I am really uncomfortable with anyone touching my feet except Tyler, cause he is the only person in my life who has never tried to tickle them after being allowed to touch them.
4. I can burp on command. Anytime. Really.
5. I almost got married one time. I am really glad that I didn't because I realized that no matter how much I'm tired of dating BS, I am so not ready to get married.
6. I horde Burt's Bees chapstick. I keep extras in my car, bedroom, fridge, and desk at work incase I don't have the one I carry on me.
7. I have broken my glasses 8 times while drunk.
8. When I get really stressed out, I drive up to Canyon Lake, blasting NFG, and just sit for a while. Usually til sunrise. It's the best.
9. I spend more time eating candy and reading perezhilton.com at work than I do actually working.
10. I have always wanted to go to Tokyo, even though Japanese people kinda freak me out.

hey, remember that one time my car got towed 15 minutes before i was supposed to be at the slamoff?
remember how i freaked out thinking it had beeen stolen, realized it was of course towed,called the place went to the bank got a 140 dollars in cash, went to the place waited forever only to have them tell me they would only release my car to the person it was registered to (my mom)
remember how i missed the whole slam? yeah, me neither.
congrats to all the boys on the team. i am disappointed to hear tabor didnt make the team, i had my bets on him.
in the end maybe it was a good thing i didnt slam. a- it got to be a giant dude fest. b- i had major problems with the structure of the sam. c- i was under prepared. d- ill get to just CHILL in madison.
in other news i went to the doctor, things are really coming along. i got to lower some of my meds. and have permission to do more.
